Sometimes, you may want to manually spot check rankings for your keywords.

To do so, follow the instructions below.

Go to the GBP location and keyword you want to double-check your keyword ranks. For this example, we will use Ruby on Rails Company.

Go to https://www.brightlocal.com/local-search-results-checker/ and enter 'ruby on rails company' into the bright local tool. Enter the City and State your listing is in.

Run a search for Google Search to spot check your organic ranks and Google Maps to spot check your local ranks. Ranks within a number or 2 of what's seen in the Local Brand Manager dashboard is completely normal. Your results will have variance due to your browser search history and because the Local Brand Manager keyword tool and Bright Local Search tool are using different methods to pull the results.
